LONDON, ENGLAND, UK | POP / SINGER-SONGWRITER
From heartfelt songwriting to international radio, a creative voice finding new ways to connect.
Meet Malissa Whitehouse
Some artists find their voice through music. Others discover that their creativity has far more than one outlet.
For Malissa Whitehouse, the journey has taken her from songwriting and performance to international broadcasting, with a growing collection of musical accolades along the way.
Based in London, Malissa is a singer-songwriter whose music combines soulful expression, emotionally driven storytelling and a willingness to explore different creative directions.
Her songs draw inspiration from personal experiences, relationships and the everyday moments that shape our lives. Exploring themes of love, vulnerability and human connection, she approaches songwriting as an opportunity to transform individual experiences into something listeners can recognise in themselves.
But Malissa's creative ambitions extend well beyond the recording studio. As the presenter of the internationally syndicated radio programme Just a London Girl, she has developed another platform through which to share stories, celebrate creativity and connect with audiences around the world.
It's a combination of musical expression and broadcasting experience that makes her an interesting figure in the independent music landscape.
Why We're Listening
What makes Malissa Whitehouse particularly compelling is the relationship between her songwriting and her wider creative identity.
Her music places emotional authenticity at its centre, embracing the personal experiences and vulnerabilities that often provide the most powerful foundations for a song.
At the same time, her work in broadcasting demonstrates an instinct for communication that extends beyond lyrics and melodies. Whether she's sharing her own musical experiences or inviting others to tell their stories, connection remains a consistent theme.
Her award-winning single Over a Lifetime represents an important milestone in that journey, demonstrating how heartfelt songwriting can find recognition across different musical communities.
For an independent artist balancing multiple creative disciplines, Malissa's continued commitment to developing her musical identity is particularly encouraging.
Over a Lifetime: An Award-Winning Milestone
The single Over a Lifetime has become a defining achievement in Malissa's recent career.
The song received two Gold awards at the 2026 International Singer-Songwriters Association (ISSA) Awards, recognising International Female Single of the Year and International Music Video.
Adding to that success, Over a Lifetime also received a 2026 InterContinental Music Award in the Best of Europe, Europop category.
Three significant honours for the same release marked a memorable moment in her career, recognising both the songwriting and visual presentation of her music.
Her subsequent single, Reflections, released in July 2026, continued that creative momentum and was put forward for Grammy consideration in the Song of the Year category.
Together, these releases reflect an artist continuing to explore the possibilities of contemporary pop songwriting while developing her own musical voice.
Beyond the Music: Just a London Girl
Music is only one side of Malissa Whitehouse's creative world.

Among those interviewed are John Oates, Howard Jones and Peter Cox of Go West, alongside numerous other performers and personalities.
The programme's conversational style reflects Malissa's enthusiasm for connecting with people, creating a space where artists and guests can share experiences beyond their public personas.
