Cherelle Jardine

RICHMOND, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA  |  SINGER-SONGWRITER / ROCK

From mops and mixing desks to rediscovered recordings, a lifetime of music made with heart.

Meet Cherelle Jardine

Some musical journeys begin with a record deal. Others begin with a mop and bucket.

For Cherelle Jardine, the road to becoming an accomplished singer-songwriter started with an extraordinary determination to get her music recorded. Unable to simply pay for studio time, she worked at a well-known Vancouver recording studio, exchanging hours of cleaning for precious opportunities behind the microphone.

Decades later, one of those early recordings would find its way back into her musical story.

Based in Richmond, British Columbia, Cherelle is a fearless, genre-defying artist whose music brings together heartfelt songwriting, emotional honesty and a healthy dose of rock 'n' roll swagger.

Throughout her career, she has explored different musical identities and collaborations, but one principle has remained constant: music should bring people together, offer hope and make the world a little brighter.

Why We're Listening

Cherelle Jardine's story is a testament to the enduring power of creativity.

Her music and the projects she's built around it reflect a commitment to human connection that extends far beyond the recording studio. Whether exploring personal experiences through songwriting, collaborating with musicians across different genres or performing for people who might otherwise have limited access to live music, Cherelle places emotional connection at the heart of what she does.

There's something particularly appealing about an artist who continues to explore new creative possibilities while embracing the experiences and recordings that shaped her earlier career.

It's that combination of musical longevity, genuine warmth and restless creativity that makes Cherelle a compelling addition to Tantalis Discovery.

A Musical Journey Through the Years

Cherelle's career has taken her through several distinctive musical chapters.

With The Jardines, she shared the creative experience of making music alongside her daughter, building a musical partnership rooted in family and artistic expression.

Her work with Peacenik Collective embraced messages of peace, love and positivity, while Stone Poets provided another outlet for exploring deeply human experiences through music.

That same spirit of connection continues through Hand over Heart, the musical duo she shares with her husband, Marc Gladstone. Together, they perform at seniors' residences, bringing live music, comfort and companionship to audiences who particularly appreciate those moments of connection.

Each project represents a different creative direction, yet all are united by Cherelle's belief in music as a positive force in people's lives.

From the Studio Floor to Something Old, Something New

Perhaps the most remarkable chapter of Cherelle's story brings her musical journey full circle.

Years after exchanging cleaning work for recording time at a Vancouver studio, one of those original recordings, Let's Spend the Night Together, was recovered from a two-inch analogue tape.

The ageing tape was carefully baked and restored, allowing the recording to be rescued and reimagined for her latest solo album, Something Old, Something New, released on 22 August 2026.

Bringing together new compositions, rediscovered recordings and elements of her musical past, the album represents both a celebration of where Cherelle has been and a renewed expression of who she is today.

It's a fitting reminder that sometimes the most meaningful creative opportunities are the ones that come back around when we least expect them.

In Her Own Words

For me, music has always been about connection, hope, and finding ways to put a little more love into the world.

Every project has been a different chapter, but that thread has never changed.

It's a simple philosophy, but one that captures the spirit of a career built around sharing music, experiences and moments of connection.
